PL 2015 – Week 13

It was a mixed bag of a week.

The new J.R. Ward book, The Shadows, was released and that means I got my signed copy. Yay!  The thought and care that goes into wrapping these books before they are shipped is astounding, especially considering they are doing it thousands of times. What an endeavor!

The Fool’s 5K was on April 4th. This is always the first race of the season here in our area and this was my second time attending the event. This is a Trekman Racing 5K and they sure know how to throw a party. The post race food was amazing!

I also started participating the #fmsphotoaday challenge run by Fat Mum Slim through her Little Moments app. It’s fun trying to find creative ways to take photos for the prompts each day. I especially appreciate the nudge to take more photos.

Also, we dyed eggs and one of my cats, Dante, found some good light which allowed me to take his portrait.

It’s my final week of working with Studio Calico’s Odyssey kit. And I am, as always, using Design A page protectors from Becky Higgins.

PL 2015 – Week 12

Now that we are past Spring Break, we are on the downhill slide to the end of the school year. The days are both longer and warmer, which means Ella and Sophie would much rather be outside than in doing homework.

This week, Sophie’s GS Troop held a “What I’m Proud Of” meeting, which was entertaining and slightly disturbing considering Ella’s performance included scantily clad Barbies.

I also discovered a new Kickstarter campaign for a graphic novel titled Victoria Jr. by Manny Trembley. It’s a collection of short stories about about a young girl who is adopted by a family of monsters. Anyone who knows me is well aware I am overly fond of Halloween and monsters, so I could not resist backing this project, especially after seeing the artwork.  I encourage you to check it out.

Here’s a close up of my Week 12 title card, which I am especially tickled with.

I also asked Ella and Sophie to create PL cards for me. I think the both did a fabulous job.

I am using SC’s Odyssey PL kit with Becky Higgins Design A page protectors. I used the Project Life App for the “What I’m Proud Of” cards.

OLW 2015 – February

OLW in February is all about vision boards!

Now I love a good vision board and loved Ali’s concept of a canvas to put on the wall, but I lack the space to do that, living in a small house as I do.

Last year, I ended up making a collage on Pic Stitch, printing it as as 8×10 and sliding it into my OLW binder. I liked it so much that I made a second one to go along with the first.

So that’s what I did again this year. I searched for some good quotes on Pinterest and laid them all out into a template on Pic Stitch, sent it to Walgreen’s to print, and picked up the finished products about an hour later.

I really like how they turned out. The colors are vibrant and intense. They make me happy.

PL 2015 – Week 11

Free Ice Cream Cone Day at Dairy Queen and the Cookie booth at College Square were highlights this week, along with that gorgeous pic of Sophie. And I finished February’s OLW prompt.
