It was Sophie’s bithday week this week and we had quite a grand time celebrating with Scratch cupcakes and an impromptu photo session. I managed to get some phenomenal shots of Sophie standing above her as she lay on the floor in the sunlight.
The week started off with the Annual Viking Pump bowling party at Cadillac Lanes. Ella and Sophie are very competitive with each other, which means they get crazy upset when the other beats them. Jason and I let them know that we were there to have fun as a family and would have leave immediately if there were any tantrums. Luckily, there were no incidents and we had a fabulous time blacklight bowling and munching on snack bar french fries. We even won a door prize – a DVD of Annie (the 2014 version) which the girls had been wanting to see. The girls also had fun taking goofy pics with my iPhone.
The week ended with Sophie’s birthday party at Young Arena. We invited her cousins and all of the girls in her class and everyone seemed to have a blast. I made a point to get pics of Sophie with all of her guests so I could include them in her scrapbook. I also enjoyed not having to deep clean my house so people could come over. We arrived 15 minutes early to set up and stayed 10 minutes after to tear down and the mess all stayed there!!
Other noteable things this week: receiving my quilted Moleskine cover from Sonya Benson Quilts and Earth Day which I honored with a photo of an Elspeth McLean dotillism painting.
Page Construction Notes
Beautiful Birthday Girl was scraplifted from an Ali Edwards spread in the 2013 Studio Calico Jubilee e-book. I used a piece of white watercolor paper as the base and all the elements are from the Jubilee kit that accompanied the e-book.
Together has a white watercolor paper base with Crayola watercolors and Heidi Swapp stamps and Color Magic ephemera.
Sophie’s Birthday Party and Week 16 are both done with Studio Calico’s Lisse Street PL kit in Becky Higgins Design A Page protectors.
